Hello Chaps

Looking for some nice clockable DDR2 800 for my Shuttle, I fancy 2x1Gb, the main issue I have is the max voltage for the memory in my bios is 2.1V. Most of the super duper memory seems to require more.

Any ideas, busy watching OcUK shop for the bargains Gibbo mentioned......

Cheers.

Cheers dudes.

Well at the moment I have DDR2 667 value RAM which if I reduce to 533 in the bios allows me to get to just under 3.4Ghz before it gets unstable. I have a nice cool E6700 to clock so would like to try for the maximum FSB of my Shuttle which is 400.

So the best solution to enable 400 FSB with the highest bios memory setting I suppose. The bios hasn't got the ratios, just 533, 667 and 800 settings.

I'm not sure anybody has actually got the DDR2 800 setting to work in the Shuttle yet either, it was a bios update.

No, the memory speed isn't locked, it rises with the FSB, so set to DDR2 800 and O/C CPU = memory speed rise.

I am a beginner, found that out from CPUz.

Edit: So I set my 667 to 533 and it's now running at 680? since I upped the FSB to 340. So what I want to do is find the best memory to reach 400 FSB using the highest bios settings?

Cheers for that.:)

I was trying to work out the maths myself, but maths isn't my forte. You've made it a lot clearer.

I'll see what pops up this afternoon on 'This weeks Specials'.

Cheers dude.:)

So looking at your previous post, I set the memory in the bios to DDR2 533 (1:1)and that will be just right to take memory restrictions out of my overclocking attempts?
