Hi guys, im just looking into getting a 20" TFT.

I have seen the E207WFP which seems good value, or is it worth the extra cash to go for the 2007WFP? Is there any discernible difference?

Also is it a good idea to go Widescreen? I just hear of so many problems in games?

Cheers guys

Afer much deliberation I went for the 2007FP (non-widescreen). Should arrive Tuesday. Currently using a 19" WS (1440x900).

I had a horrid time getting the Widescreen fixes to work for many of my older games (Doom 3, UT2004 to name but two) as it would often involve editing files that would just reset themselves to original values upon loading the game. In the end I just gave up and I now run them stretched, which looks odd.

For DVDs, videos, and desktop use it was fantastic, the screen looks and feels great and if that's all you were going to use it for i'd recommend it in an instant.

Oh, and the difference between the E207WFP and 2007WFP is the type of panel used and the connections on the back. The E207 uses a TN-Film panel and has VGA and DVI connectors available. The 2007 uses a S-IPS panel (better viewing angles and colour reproduction) and has many more inputs, like composite, connectors for HD etc. :)

Thanks guys, its mainly gaming i use the PC for, so it seems i should keep my 19" CRT till some more TFT's start arriving which might be better for games?

i still use my crt only reason to swap is power saving
and if you want sexy widescreen

Well the industry seems to be moving to Widescreen, it's unlikely 4:3 TFTs will ever get as big as the 16:10 Widescreen ones.

It's only the old games I have a problem with - Bioshock, SupCom, WoW, Quake 4 and games like that with native widescreen support are really quite nice to play. :)
