I have the Deluxe version. Installed Generals, done. Installed Zero Hour, done. Now i want to play..it's saying i need to use the correct disc and i've tried all of them without success?

Going through them again but this time pressing the shortcuts also... :o

Help?

It installs Zero Hour as a seperate program. So whichever icon you click, that's the disk you need in the drive. Should accept either disk I believe, but go for disk 1 just in case.

Okay, disc 1 worked when i clicked Generals...but how does ZH work then? Entirely seperate meaning i need to use the other disc or is it just added on?

Is this on Vista 64? I get this, its the only game I havent been able to play so far, and i'm gutted. If you get it working let me know!

its disk 1 for both generals and zero hour....they both have their own disk 1.
easier way would be to download an image and mount that(yes i own the original but mounting is far more conveniant..it also keeps my disk safe).

I have a different problem to this on XP Home. Have installed both Generals and ZH. When i click on Check for Updates, it sits there doin nothing.

Then i try and run the game (ZH), the disc speed up, and then nothing, then the disc slows down.

No idea why this is happening, should i download the patch separately instead of using the update button maybe?

Any help appreicated, sorry for the hijack.

Nope, Vista 32bit Ultimate. :)

Right, so if i want to play Zero Hour...i need to use the other disc?

You should have:

Generals Disk 1 + 2
Zero Hour Disk 1 + 2

Use Generals disk 1 for Generals, and if you load the Zero Hour icon to play that, then use the Zero Hour disk 1.

I can't make that any simpler, sorry. :p

Que?

What's gone stuttery? Did Zero Hour even attempt to load with the right disk in?

Updating ZH now..well, it's meant to be but the timer for the estimated time keeps rising and it's stopped downloading at a steady speed.

As for Generals, i started a mission and it started to stutter. I closed it down, found a patch and just installed it...i'll see what happens when i load it up later on.

Edit: Just updated ZH..well the transfer window disappeared so i'm assuming it was done.

If you're getting lots of stuttering actually in game but only after you've been playing a while it could be the AI tying itself in knots. I found on custom maps if the AI was struggling to find a way to navigate to my base and got stuck my PC just ground to a halt trying to calculate a path. Was frustrating but I found nuking all the stuck units sped things up. :D
