Which do you prefer single player games or online?

Do you prefer playing games in single player or online mulitplayer?

I've been out of pc gaming for a while but when I use to play them I was 98% online deathmatch and hardly touched the single player in games I bought.

Depends on the game.

Playing Mass Effect now and it's brilliant, but then I'll go and open DoD:S and have a bash - there's nothing like killing 'real' people!

Depends what game really. I like to play FPS games online but hate playing strategy online.

Used to only play online really, but since around 1-2 years ago i got boerd of online fps games, and started to get into single player. For me, online gaming isn't reallly adding anything new these days...Black Ops, BC2, they just bore the pants of me. Love my single player gaming now.

Single player, though I don't even bother with quite a few games that come out these days whether it be sp / mp. I'm harder to please than say even a couple of years ago.

I just wished there were a greater number of first person shooter games with a role playing element. So we have Deus Ex, System Shock 2, Bioshock titles, Stalker titles...anything I've missed or forgotten? Oh yeah, Fallout 3 + NV. Can't think of anything else off the top of my head.

I used to play CS (not cs source) for years. I literally only played that game and nothing else for like 5 years. It helped my pocket as I didnt have to upgrade much hehe.

Although these days I only play single player as I find I have less and less time for gaming unfortunately

Plus I cba getting into an online game anymore and that is probably part of the reason I played cs for so long as I played until I got good and then nothing could really compare to playing at a high level in clans. Playing on public is a bit of fun but nothing compares to proper clan wars/league games and lans.

Online, I get bored of SP games so quickly. Need a community of people to chat and play with, it's not so much about the challenge but rather knowing that i'm not alone.

Depends on the game really. Currently I'm playing Bioshock 2 and though there is a multiplayer component to it I cant see me playing it yet the singleplayer is fun. Same as ARMA 2 though it has a good multiplayer community I prefer the singleplayer.

But then theres the classics like Battlefield 2 and BFBC2 where online is where its at. These 2 games I play most days.

MMOS and FPS's always online obviously

RTS types i've never really enjoyed online, too robotic and "build ordery"
