Hi there,

I bought a cheap wireless optical mouse for the laptop but there are no drivers with it...

I am running vista ultimate sp2 and it does find the driver however the mouse does not want to work so I am guessing its the drivers...

Does anyone know how I can find out which drivers I need?

Is there a universal set I can try?

Please help

Thanks

The universal built into Windows should work just fine. You first have to disable and uninstall your previous mousey in Device Manager, then reboot.

Providing us with the Make/Manufacturer of new mousey might help us to help you as well, but try the first idea first.

edit: and put batteries in the thing. ;)

If that don'y work make sure usb Legacy is turned on in the bios
and there maybe other USB options for keyboard/mouse in the bios.

the only other mouse is the mouse pad I have on the laptop...

the make and manufacturer are unknown, its unbranded, the only numbers on the electirical board are ds2068 which I googled and am beginning to wonder if it is vista compatible...

USB legacy is enabled in the bios...

any further ideas would be appreciated..

you shouldn't have to do this
i don't, in vista and now win 7, i just but the wireless receiver in to a usb port on laptop and it works
