Hi guys, few years ago i had a 650D and loved every second, learned a lot and took some great snaps.

I got rid of it some time ago and now im looking to get a better one so i can learn a lot more and take some better pictures when i do some travelling or go on walks.

Ive been looking at the 70D because i came to a DSLR that had a touch screen and it was revolutionary for me i could never go back, i also loved the overall feel of the 650D.

My mind is telling me to save up for the 7DMKII but the rational part of me is saying well why, for a few pictures whats the point.

any info on a camera in that range that fits the price and features, good quality snaps, good low light, good lense to fit in the budget, etc

cheers

70d is probably your best bet for Canon unless you want to save up for the extra features the 7d2 has (faster better AF and better FPS amongst others). The 7d2 doesn't have touchscreen by the way...

If you're specifically wanting low light performance then it might be worth saving up for a 6d instead or looking for a second hand one.

My next body will be a 70d

Partly due to cost
But more to do with ergonomics of camera and usability for my macro stuff

If I was starting fresh now.. Probably would have got a nikon in hindsight

would anyone recomend portus digital ? i was going to go with dig rev but portus seems pretty hard to beat for price and the review seem pretty good, if so 650 smackers for a 70d and kit lense is what ill be doing xmas

So far I've bought a 70D w/ 135mm STM, 270 EXII and a 100mm L from Portus with no issues whatsoever. Cheapest place I've found and, so far, it's all been sent from within the UK so very quick and no import charges.
