I'm looking at getting a DVD player to replace my slowly dying Panasonic recorder, but I don't know what I'm looking at.
I know there are a lot of good players out there that I could get for about the £70 mark, but I'm not sure what to look at. I have no interest in Blu-Ray whatsoever, as I like bargain bucket 4 DVDs for £10 type deals and the overall picture quality does me fine.
I'll happily go for something used if I can find something worth a punt. Example - the Sony DVP-NS900V is very old, doesn't have progressive scan (does that even matter?), but strangely appeals to me.
I'm a bit irrational and tend to shy away from new, small, cheap boxes of air for larger and older ones with a bit more inside.
It'll be going into a Panny TXP42X10B. I skim read somewhere that the upscalingness of any given budget DVD player with this feature will be bettered by that the TV will have.
I'm confused, help!
