Which dvi cable do i need? single or dual

Ive got a LG 32LX2R LCD tv which came with a DVI-D single cable, but i need a 3m long cable and so need to replace this.

Been looking on the net and i can only seem to find DVI-D dual cables like this one http://www.tvcables.co.uk/cgi-bin/tvcables/XFV05-300.html

Will this dual work fine with the TV?, im connecting it to the DVI output on a FX5200 graphics card on my media centre pc.

IIRC the dual cables allow for higher bandwidth and thus higher resolutions, so with that TV it probably won't make much difference.

So I take it the dual cable will work fine?, i just wont see a lot more benefit from using it?.

I went for a dual cable when I got my projector which came with a single type connector, so I can't see there being any problem with your TV, but you may want to see if there is anyone with your exact TV or email the tech guys at LG to be completely sure.

Cheers. I gave LG customer services a call, they were still open at 7.30pm

but they couldnt help me out, had to send the enquiry to the technical department for them to look into it tomorrow. Think the dual link will be fine, but better safe then to be sorry I suppose.

Single link DVI is good for 1920x1200. You only need dual link when going up to silly resolutions, like on the 30" monitors from Dell & Apple.
