Hi there, I'm getting a samsung 26" LCD TV tomorrow which I will be connecting to my PC as well as using it for gaming, there seems to be a lot of DVI cables around so which one will give me the best quality and which type do I need? Thanks!

Just had this problem at work when connecting laptops to an LCD TV for an exhibition. We used a DVI-I to VGA cable to connect from the normal monitor output socket to the DVI input on the TV. I think this will work fine for you as long as the TV uses a DVI-I socket. Certain online retailers sell them for £18 ish if I remember right.

If the TV has a HDMI connector your best bet would be a DVI-D to HDMI cable. that will keep it all digital for you.

a DVI cable is digital

Nope:

DVI-A - Used for conveying pure ANALOGUE signals (mainly used in TV's, but apparently an obsolete connection)
DVI-I - Digital to Analogue - Analogue to Digital conversion (thus loss in signal quality)
DVI-D - Digital to Digital (purest connection)
