Am between these chips. My aim is to overlock past 3.4Ghz. I hear that G0 chips have issues with Asus P5W 975 deluxe boards and its northbridge chip which can't hold up high fsb.

I would get a E6850 if am convinced that ill be able to overclock it 9x400 without problems with my board and without reaching an fsb wall.

Since the difference between these chips is minimal am seeking advice regarding what would be the best buy for me, taking into accoumt my board. Thanks

Quad have some problems with certain applications, is that true? Thats why i hesitate qoing quad core.

I have found E6600 for 100 quid used. Do you think its a decent offer?

The members market has some deals.

The e2160 is great for the money but the E2160 at 3.0ghz is only roughly equivalent to a Conroe @ 2.8 or so

Where is the members market?

The problem with my case is that I have the asus p5w board for which reports say that you hit an fsb wall at around 420mhz plus some compatibility issues. That would prevent me from properly overcloking G0 processors.
