I need to replace my earphones. Used mostly with an Ipod.

Shortlist

Sennheiser M2iei
Shure e215
Klipsch S4
RHA MA750i

Anyone have have experience with the above or able to offer alternatives?

My suggestion is to go into a decent dealers and have a listen to a variety. Note that no one will let you listen to in-ear units on health grounds. Fine by me as I've never on with them.

I went through the same requirement last year as my Senns were dieing. Spent about 30 mins in RS and ended up buying a pair of Musical Fidelity MF100s. Paid £5 over your budget, but frankly they were just massively better than anything close to their cost (IMO) and I tried pretty much everything from £50 to £150 that the salesman thought might work (about 10 pairs in total).

The RHA set are extremely good, although as per a couple of reviews, they take a while to bed in and can sound drastically different and vastly improved once they have.

There's detail in some of my flac files that I've not heard for a long time and they're overall the best set I've had in years.

If you ever have to deal with warranty on them, they're excellent there too. Had a new set of the 450i after they decided to not work with my iPad any more, arrived in a couple of days after diagnosing and dealing with RHA directly.

I assume you mean Shure SE215's, if so I absolutely love mine!

The RHA set are extremely good,

I ordered the RHAs yesterday from the rain forest and they arrived today. Noticeably different from the beats that were thrown in with my HTC phone :)

Over ear doesn't feel too bad. Only put Knights of Cydonia through them so far which sounds great. Looking forward to giving them a work out in the gym tomorrow :)
