Ok so I installed a watercooling system yesterday and it sprung a leak which spilt some feser onto the 8800GT as well as some on the rear of the mobo and possibly front of it.

Now I'm in a situation where the pc will turn on. All mobo leds are on to say power ok and booting. However the graphics card fan will go to full power and stay that way with nothing coming up on screen.

I have tried to reset cmos to no luck. Could anyone guess from this whether it is the graphics or mobo that is the issue as I can source a new one of each today. I just don't want to have to buy both if someone has an idea of which is the issue.

Thanks

Sadly not. I will grab an 8800 from a store nearby and give it a whirl. If not I guess that could only really leave the mobo?

Well the fact the mobo lights up makes me think that it still works. I can use the turn on funtion for a start. I wonder if the graphics is buggered and the fan is literally just taking power and using it but nothing else is going on with the card. Will soon see. Then I might be able to bleed the system and get some first time temps

Tried a different graphics card and again the fan spins at 100% and nothing comes up on the monitor. I guess really that can only leave the mobo that could cause this issue?

Luckily so. I can get this from down the road. It's a p35 chipset which is good and also i have read it can be overclocked past 3.3 and I'm only looking 3.2

Anyone have an opinion?

Screwdrive didn't seem to want to help lol Battery is firmly wedged in. And it looks like it needs some sort of V shapped tool. Gigabyte board from down the road it is.
