Hi all,

Anyone got any recommendations on a decent solid reliable external backup drive for daily backups.

Looking at around 1TB storage and looking to do one week of backups then swap and take the other home.

:)

Western digi drive if possible

Its for a small business of 5 users

Server is set-up on a HP Microserver, only thing they do internally is file server with some permissions

Their microserver is set-up for RAID, I was going to get them to stick the drive in on a monday and let the software do the backups, then the following Monday swap the drive and take other home.

Im struggling to get them to invest in a small dedicated firewall at the moment they are thinking its fine running on the BT Business hub despite me telling them, they are slowly coming round.

They already have an external drive, so with the additional of the 2 big drives that will be 3 although the existing one is only 250GB

Until their FTTC goes in they are only relying on ADSL at the moment, they should be getting fibre soon to where they can do some backups to the cloud.

Using Acronis Backup and Recovery, iv done a few restores for them which seem to do them fine.

Windows Server 2008 R2

I will look at RDX aswel, its either going to be a standard form external hard drive (western digi) or RDX.
