I'm going to be replacing my fans for a new set, which are all 4-pin PWM.
Until now I've just stubbornly been using a 3-pin voltage controller, but I fancied trying proper PWM.

So I'm looking for something that does manual and curve control, works on Asus X99 boards and is ideally free... or perhaps less than a tenner.

What do you recommend?

i use my bios to set the curve and control mine you should have the option in there somewhere no?

I do, but I don't want to have to keep restarting every time I have the need to tweak my fans... hence the Manual stipulation.

Try Asus ai suite /fan expert first
Never had any issues with the fan control part of ai suite myself
What about the other parts of it?

Im using Argus monitor, free trial and its pretty cheap to actually buy it. I prefer it to ai suite due to controlling my gpu radiator fan with the gpu temp. You cant seem to do that in ai suite.

Fan Xpert isn't bad. A bit limited, but it functions on a basic level.

Does Aquasuite work for things like other brands of fan hub (such as Phanteks), or is it only for Aquacomputer components?

I also use Argus Monitor that allows you to set DC fans slower than both bios or fan Xpert will.

Was ready to have to replace 2 x AF 140s that came with my case, as at 50% minimum setting they're too loud. Argus allows you to override that and set lower, at 30% they're silent at idle.
