Ok here goes... I like the overall look of the NZXT S340, but I'm a little disappointed when it comes to my GPU temps (Zotac GTX 980 TI AMP!). I even applied some fresh TIM (Arctic MX-4) which dropped the temps by a couple of °C. The GPU temps will easily reach 80C when playing BF4 or the Witcher 3, but will drop to around 73C if I remove the front panel and dust filter from the case... I already knew the air intake would be somewhat restricted, but not by a massive amount (I thought).
Anyway, my case currently has a pair of 140mm Prolimatech Vortex 14 Blue Wings installed in the front that I bought when they were half price (https://www.overclockers.co.uk/prolimatech-blue-vortex-blue-wings-140mm-fan-fg-000-pl.html). They are a bit loud and struggle to shift any air at all when the front panel and dust filter are attached to the case
. Now this raises the question... Should I have gone for fans that are more static pressure orientated? I know SP fans are good at pushing air through obstacles, but what are they like at PULLING air through things like dust filters and restrictive panels? I only ever hear about people going on about their air pushing power.
What fans do you guys use with the S340 or similar styles cases?
