Hello everyone

As you probably all know (or at least the Oblivion fans among us), Oblivion is almost upon us! It is going to be an utterly fantastic game, one which looks set to even bring non-RPG lovers to the genre. I am looking forward to many elements of the game, particularly the open-endedness of it all, but I have to say that the thing I am looking forward to the most is to be able to experience the Radiant AI at work. Bethesda have the uncanny ability to make things work exceptionally well in their games, they always have, but this is something totally new for anyone and I am most interested to see how it changes the playability of the game.

What are you all looking forward to in Oblivion?

Yeah from what I've seen on some of the movies, the physics engine looks amazing too. Being able to cast a paralysing spell, among other things, on an enemy, watching them fall helplessly to the floor, or watching their bodies fly all over the place when you cast forceful spells. I don't think it'll ever get old :D

I hope that Oblivion is as memorable and funny as Morrowind was. I will never forget the day I was walking around outside one of the cities and suddenly someone falls out of the sky and lands at my feet, dead. I laughed so much when that happened, especially after finding out it was him tampering with magic that caused that to happen. Hopefully there will be more of that sort of thing in Oblivion :)

Yeah it's out this Friday and I would say it will easily become the best game of 2006, without a doubt. Bethesda have been working long and hard on the game, and they have managed to bring a lot of uniqueness to the genre in the past. Oblivion is now them redefining the genre yet again. You will NOT be disappointed with this game (if you are, you're an alien. that's a fact :D)

Fable is a great game, although nowhere near as open-ended as Oblivion will be. Buy it from GAME, rent it from somewhere, but seriously, just play the game and give it a fair chance. Then you'll see what all the fuss is about :)

There is a mixture of text and speech. Can't say how much there will be until it's played, but apparently there are thousands and thousands of different lines of dialog, not sure whether that's written or spoken though.

Yeah I thought there was. Morrowind used voice and subtitles, so I would imagine that Oblivion will be the same, but better. Oh how I want this game :D

Expect a lot of loading tbh. The game is absolutely massive. You can't really compare the environment to most games available right now.

The graphics will be the same, just depends on the performance of your hardware and how high you set them. If your PC is up to it, then you'll probably get higher quality with the PC (i.e if you have an extremely higher than average PC) but the XBox 360 graphics are next generation and are designed to work with the 360's hardware so better performance and stunning graphics all-round. It will also depend on whether you have a HD-capable TV for your 360.

As far as I'm aware, Oblivion has been specifically designed for the 360, it isn't just a direct port like EA's games.
