Hi. looking to dive into fibre optic and it is a toss between sky fibre optic or plusnet.

sky is more pricier yet offers only 40mb while plusnet offers up to 59mb but is 18month contract compared to sky's 12month contract.

i will be moving again within half a years time or a year so need to be able to carry over either plusnet or sky to my new property.

Which one offers better Customer support and good reliable download and upload speeds?

AFAIK, there is no house move process for FTTC so you need to check what the provider will do if you move house. Worse case they would expect to you pay for the whole contract at your current house and then take out a new contract at the new address. I'd also want it confirming in writing when speaking to a random call centre droid.

FTTC? whats that?

"Fibre to the Cabinet"

Basically the Fibre is run to the cabinet & then it uses VDSL2 to connect the cabinet back to the modem in your house (over copper)

Just for reference Sky do offer a "Pro" version of their fibre broadband which gives the full 76(ish) down & 18(ish) upload, but when I last looked it wasn't very good value

Virgin are best if you're in their area and want a more basic TV package

Sky are best if you have/want their TV too.

Plusnet/Zen if you just want good Fibre as cheaply as possible with no TV gubbins.

+1 to Plusnet, a good friend of mine is on it and is happy with the reliability of the service. One thing I would say though is the router is not as advanced as BT's and Virgin's (a third party router is still best) but it may be good enough for you depending on your usage.
