i mean for either doing scheduled or manual backups, or simply copying a mass of files from one location to another..

i use Unstoppable Copierhttp://www.roadkil.net/unstopcp.html

its a damn good program for copying files from scratched cd's too, if it finds a broken file, it keeps trying it over and over, and eventually quits that file and goes onto the next (explorer would give you an error and stop) standalone app, i keep mine in the s32 folder and call it 'ucd' for easy access > start, run, ucd

i also use Microsoft Synctoyhttp://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4757

excellent for scheduling backups and keeping two folders in sync with each other, has a few different options on how you want it to manage the files, but at the same time is easy to use with a good gui

i used to use robocopy, microsoft's commandline based copier, very good program but as a home user, synctoy is fine for me instead and its easier to setup a new job quickly instead of fiddling with bat files

Thought you could do that on a Command Line.

robocopy is basically the commandline version of synctoy (robocopy has more options though)

Well what do you know it is!

Seems like the cli version of SyncToy.

Linky for anyone who wants Robocopy and other programmes, although you don't have to install all of it.

For Win2k, XP Pro, Win2k3, dunno about Vista. (no XP Home)

just extract the msi with 7zip or winrar to get the robocopy exe, then dump it in system32 folder
