Which final fantasy games between 1-6 have been re-released and on which platforms? And are they the original version or redone like ff3 on the ds?

1-6 have been re-released on the gameboy advance, I think the games are like upgraded ports, some of the games have new contented added to them.

Yeah, 1-6 are the GBA and PlayStation... I think some if not all of the PlayStation versions had CGI movies added in. I played FFVI on the PlayStation and it really bugged me because there were load times between each screen.

GB Micro and FF6 would be really sweet though.

FF1 is being ported to the PSP, it's basically the same game but the graphics have been given a nice shiny look.

1,2,4,5 and 6 have come out on PS1 and GBA. 4,5 and 6 were basically just ports from the original SNES games with a few things touched up, but 1 and 2 were redone with SNES style graphics. The GBA versions have a few extra things in them, like extra dungeons. These versions of 1 and 2 were also on the wonderswan colour (Japanese handheld, can't get it anywhere else) and now they have also been released as mobile phone games. And of course the FF3 remake. That's the only one that's been a proper remake, although I suppose you could count 1 and 2.

Oh and I'll also add that Final Fantasy Tactics is coming to PSP. That means it'll finally get a release in this country (and even if it doesn't importing is no hassle since it's region free).

Final Fantasy IV also received a Wonderswan Color remake.

Final Fantasy 1 & 2 also received a remastered bundle version on the original Famicom.

The original Final Fantasy also received a re-release on the MSX iirc, with much much better graphics and sound...

Having just (within the past ten minutes!) finished Final Fantasy IX, I'm very tempted to post up pictures of my 25 title strong Final Fantasy collection :p

It's worth noting that the GBA rereleases are FAR better than the Playstation rereleases as they've been properly translated, as opposed the pretty poor Engrish in the PS versions ;)

/edit - Having reread Psyk's post, can I also add that the GBA version of IV, V & IV also have bonus content such as extra job and dungeons...

Please do, I want to see :)

The FF games are so confusing as FF1 in europe is not the same as FF1 in Japan. So I never bother playing FF games as I don't truly know were to start.

Yes they are. All the games released in Europe have the correct numbers.

The II that came out on the SNES in the US is actually IV, and the III that came out on the SNES in the US is actually VI. They are the only two releases that have had the wrong numbers. Since 7 was the first to come out in Europe, when we finally got the older ones they gave them the right numbers.

P.S. it doesn't matter where you start, the games aren't connected to each other. I wouldn't reccommend starting with I.

I'll make a new thread for it once I've cooked tea :)

After careful consideration, I've postponed this action to make way for delivery of four more titles :p

(Just managed to find VII, VIII and IX in original Japanese releases for less than 50 notes- JOY!

/edit

Oh, and found IV, V and VI for SF for £25, boxed, instructions. I only need IV, but I've made my money back with the other two :D - Damn you ebayHK)
