Which final fantasy to get?

Hi Folks,

I am looking to get a new game for my ds tomorrow and want to get something good to get my teeth into. I have played and completed FFVII and FFVIII and currently have FFIII but I have grown very bored of it. I have only gotten 10hrs into it and have just gone down to the main world but I can't be bothered carrying on, the story just seems a bit pointless and the battles are too easy. I was thinking of getting FFVI (the GBA version) as I hear that is meant to be one of the best FF installments but there are other versions for the GBA and DS that I haven't really heard that much about.

Which ones would you recommend that I get?

I'm going to go off at an odd angle here... Whilst VI is by far my favourite of the series, I still highly recommend the underrated, often forgotten Final Fantasies.

IX is a wonderful title, full of emotion and an excellent storyline and *well* worth playing if you still have access to a Playstation.

Final Fantasy IV is again absolutely excellent, though being the first of the 'modern' Final Fantasies, and finally with the GBA version, we've got it as it should be. The previous translations have been of the EasyType (Japanese Kids version basically), and very poorly translated...

Then of course, you have Final Fantasy V. This is actually a contender for my favourite if I'm honest... (I own more copies of this than VI ;)) A very diverse, emotional story with plenty of familiar elements for fans. A FABULOUS soundtrack. Excellent replay value, with loads of extra bits added for the GBA. It's also significantly easier to get hold of at the minute
than FFIV.

Anyway, that's my two cents :p
