hi im starting to assemble my wc loop. well buying the parts at least. just wondering what compression fittings you guys recommend. i like the bitspower ones but i think the cost of them is excessive.

what do you recommend? probably going to use 10id hose unless you recommend different

im personally a fan of the Monsoon fittings but its what ever takes ya fancy really. I was also initially attracted by the bitspower stuff but nobody holds all the fittings and yes the price is too much.

the little wrench the give is such a nice touch isnt it.

although I can never bloody find one when I need it lol. its just like the screw driver you put down next to you that somehow teleports to the other side of the room.

Lol ok I'll take a look at them do I need to use any particular brand of pipe with them? Also another question how would I pipe up 2 gpus with heatkiller blocks?

Get yourself some of these for putting all your little bits and pieces in. I used to lose things like the spanners/keys/thumbscrews etc all the time. Dump them in those boxes now and always know where small items are when I want them.

Everyone raves over he Bitspower fittings, however I am not so impressed with all of their stuff. I got some rotating angle fittings that are so stiff that they are virtually unusable and on one of them the rubber seal was poking out of the rotating section. The compression fittings are very good though.

I also got some of the EK angled fittings and they seem much better. They rotate quite freely and they look nice. The quality seems good.

I'm glad I'm not the only one, the bitspower fittings that I've had recently have been awful, they look pretty but the rotary parts just don't rotate that well

I've been EK's rotary fittings, they just work, may not look the best but just work. The rebuild I'm doing at the moment I'm hoping to reduce the number of fittings as much as possible by using acrylic tubing

OT - Ploppy, did you ever create a build log for your machine?

no :(

I didnt even think about it until I had it all done.

I will be doing a custom Lian Li D600 though with the Z97 from this machine when x99 is released. the case will be custom sprayed etc so I will endeavour to do a build log for that one.

I will up a new image here tomorrow as this build has progressed a wee bit since that photo. it too dark now to get a good photo.

Monsoon, These are the new Plated silver monsoon fittings that will soon be out world wide and got to say these new fittings are looking the dogs hanging bits ...

They defo do not scratch that easily as there early versions. The Xspc ones i found ripped my fingers to shreds trying to tighten them up :/ and haven't tried the EK ones. I always was a barb man until these new fittings now when ever we upgrade any system they will all be getting these new monsoon fittings. I did like the old fittings but they were big and chunky these are not :).

Yea I must admit the monsoon fittings look amazing I'm just trying to keep control of the cost at the moment lol. But I think if I scrimp on fittings I'll be changing them within a few weeks

+1 here on monsoon fittings. I'm a noob to water cooling, but they were so easy to get right. I built a practise loop outside the case yesterday and zero leaks from the monsoons. Moving into the case `soon` ....

They do look the dogs nadgers too.
