which flag to use?

I have a 7870 tahiti (7950 with some of the good stuff disabled) so it is not the slowest card.

Is better for my ppd to use the beta flag or the the advanced flag?

Also which is the best set of amd drivers to use?

Strictly speaking you should only use the beta flag is you are part of folding's beta testers. As they are betas things can go awry and you should be able to report that in the beta forums. Advanced is the more general setting, albeit those too aren't always fully stable.

I think many of us set our stuff for beta as often the newest trial units give better points, especially when they have been testing out bonus points for swift returns.

drivers are fine. my 7950 currently 77k ppd which is normal, somtimes I see upto 80/85k

On and off for around 80k ppd still having issues with the you though.

The gpu sometimes goes from 2.44 tpf to 17.46 tpf and that while its not in use and slider to full no screen saver or power saving. Gpu usage also goes to around 4% but I have tried changing the settings in the smp client to 4 threads from 5 bearing in mind I have 6. Even tried setting an affinity whith each client with no avail.

haha ye, my goes up and down aswell but seems to settle at 75kppd ish throughout the day , don't take much noticed of the ppd it shows, it really rubbish at estimating lol , just let it fold and you'll get decent work units completed with nice points to go with it

, a WU for around 7 hours will get 25k to 27k depending on whats been done on the pc
