hi

i have an mp4 format file i would like to burn onto a dvd disc so it plays on a basic dvd player. which format should i convert the mp4 to so that a normal dvd player will play it?

the mp4 i have is a blu ray rip so wen i convert i dont want to lose any quality. can it be done? and which program should i use?

thanks

Add: friend told me the dvd player can play JPEG, MP3, WMA. can i convert an mp4 to one of these formats? which is the best to convert to ?

Avi2Dvd, then burn resultant DVD Video Files onto DVD blank media with Ashampoo Burning Studio Free, or

DVD Flick

All free...

Cut out the extra steps and just use Freemake, which is also free and supports CUDA. OP, when you say Blu-Ray rip, what bitrate are we talking about here? A DVD will only hold so much, but if it's an mp4 likely it's a smaller rip anyway (and hence won't lose much, if anything).

Drag and drop into Freemake, press 'to DVD' and away you go.
