Last week we received a Netgear DGND3300 and it is truely dreadful.
Aside from a broken plastic foot on delivery, it has worse range than the ageing BT Homehub 1.5 it replaces. I switched from the useless 5Ghz range to 2.4Ghz, which was an improvement - but it still regularly disconnects and won't allow our upstairs 'N' desktop PC to connect at certain periods. Switching between 20Mhz and 40Mhz width has not helped either.
What G/N router do you recommend for the strongest range, reliability and object penetration? Good software such as the ability to stop my sister's laptop accessing the internet when she's meant to be asleep would be useful - but are a secondary requirement.
A model available at OcUK would be best, as it would make a return straightforwards - but as the product is not of merchantable quality I will demand a cash refund for a purchase elsewhere if necessary.
Linksys have popped up in conversation due to their Tomato software. Whether they have a stronger radio than this junk I do not know though.
We really would like to sort this out and finally get a quality product please. I have spent far too much time addressing this and just want to sort the problem out with no drama.
Thanks!
