Which G.Skill Memory?

I'm preparing a new build (Z270/i7700k/1080ti) and I've been waiting for the G.Skill 64GTZR RGB (16x4) sticks to become available - but they're still only available for pre order.

I'm not bothered about RGB - so my question is, should I wait for these 'Kaby Lake' sticks to be released, or are there any sticks in the current Trident Z series that would do the job?

I require 64Gb - and my work is CPU intensive, if that influences any recommendations.

I was set on the Rog Maximus IX Hero Z270 - but I've since read that the on board sound isn't great?

Thanks - so the decision is to either wait for the new RGB's or pick up the F4-3200C16Q-64GTZ.

Will the 17Q offer a noticeable difference on a Kaby Lake build?

If you are doing cpu intensive work why not X99 or Ryzen ?
