These are the games im currently interested in:

CoD4
Gears of War
Crysis
UT3
sim city 5

Since ive just spend a lot of money on a new mobo/ram/psu, i can only really get 2 of these in the next few weeks (im saving for quad core), which 2 do you reckon would be best to go for first, i will end up getting all of them most probably, im thinking Cod4 and sim city 5 for a bit of variety but im not really sure, i like shooters and strategy games.

cheers

Get Crysis, you won't regret it :)
Gears of War doesn't seem like a lot of fun for me to be honest, not very far in though, the graphics are beautiful :)
CoD4 is a great game as well, if you don't mind having no freedom to what you can do, it's a great shooter and the story was quite good :)

Definitely Crysis.

COD4 is a great game, but it's quite short. There is MP though.

GOW doesn't interest me - it just seem like you run around and spray in the general direction of some monster than looks like a big pile of mush.

UT3 - again, doesn't interest me. Same thing as GOW, running around spraying.

Sim City - not my type of game.

Just my opinions. :)

Definitely Crysis.

OMG, sacrilige, lol. Only joking, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I as looking forward to the new UT as UT2004 was quite a good laugh, though none relaly compare to the original UT (had GOTY edition).

If you liked farcry get Crysis it's pretty much the same thing in style of game (bear in mind have an identical setup to you and can only get a descent frame rate at 1280x1024, high with some medium settings), if you found it dull (like myself) you may be better off with gears, cod4 or maybe even Jericho (although this gets dull if you just use the same combo's repeatedly and is also quite short, i am kind of enjoying it tho)
Timeshift is another option

RPG-wise The Witcher is very good ( i assume your over 18?)
Assassins creed is inc in 4 days too :D

Strategy cant really see any ones that take my fancy particularly, eagery awaiting spore tho :x

GoW
and Crysis or UT3

Personally wouldn't consider CoD4 as it's to chaotic imo, sim city 5 is not a sequel to sc4 so unless you want a sidestep from the original SC games I'd avoid too.

Chronic i doubt that you can't get that running nicely, is that based on the demo or the retail game which in my eyes runs quite a bit better?

Cod is probably my game of the year so far, bit short but very good and well worth getting.
Crysis should be great going from the mp and sp demos.
GoW looks good but unfortunately its a very poor game.

Definitely Crysis.

fair enough, just your opinions, but I'm sure those opinions will be more respected if you've actually played the game before criticizing it, I thought the same to tbh but when I played it although it's a little like you say I found it fun still.

COD4

GOW

Being skeptical until people in the crysis thread give the real performance, i honestly cant see them making significant changes that close to launch personally
But i hope im wrong as it is a VERY VERY pretty game

Crysis by a country mile. The psuedo non-linear style of it will give it infinitely more replayability than CoD4 - i completed the demo 4 times in rediculously different ways.

Also, the modding will be immense.

Call of Duty 4. I genuinely don't think I've ever played a game as intense and exciting as it before. Turned up loud and set to 'veteran' difficulty it's unreal. Only done the first few levels too...from what I've heard on here the best it yet to come.

To be honest, I only played it for about 20 minutes, but it didn't leave me wanting to go back for more.

I have watched a lot of videos on it though, and I will go give it another chance. Just as soon as I'm done with Crysis. :)
