Hi guys. Had my razer Deatheradder since 2007 and it's finally packed in (kind of).

The thing double clicks sometimes when I only want it to click once and the right click when holding for zoom in BF3 twitches on and off so is a bit annoying. I was thinking about replacing it with another deathadder the new respawn or the wireless mamba? But I thought I'd go for a change.

Now I ordered both a Qpad 5K and a Roccat Kone+. I'll either return both if they don't feel right or keep the one I like the most in my palm. Is there any other mouses I might have overlooked? Reason I haven't gone for logitech is I find them a bit cheap to look at and I had a MX518 in the past and the shape just didn't feel right.

Id have suggested the logitech G500, pretty robust and comfy to use. Good range of buttons on it as well.

Steelseries Xai, or related :)

I have the Qpad 5K and really like it. Good fit, light, simple, accurate and no skipping. I also had a Kone, which is a fine mouse itself, but had build quality issues, and the software was shaky.

If you have come from a Deathadder then you will probably be disappointed with a laser mouse. Get another deathadder or look at the new Zowie-AM or wait for the Steelseries Kana which should be out soon.

If you don't care and just want to try something new the Steelseries Xai/Sensei or G500.

logitech G9 best I have used to date prefer it to any razer I have owned it also has 2 bodies one narrow for claw grippers and one large for those with a standard grip. So it gonna fit regardless unless your a lefty that is?

Why would I be disappointed with a laser mouse?

Acceleration on a cloth pad. It was bad and very noticeable on my Xai better on the Sensei and G500 the G9 is supposed to be bad too. Basically the deathadder is widely regarded as having the best sensor of any mouse on the market, as close to the perfect mouse behaviour as it is possible to get. Also depends what surface you use if you are using a bare wood table an optical sensor will track better than a laser sensor and if you have a cloth pad it will be better. As I said in the Sensei and G500 its not too bad the Sensei is a bit better. Also this only really applies when you move the mouse fast.

Bear in mind I only just started using a regular mouse again having been using a trackball since before optical mice really began and with a trackball I have never experienced any issues because the ball is always the perfect surface for the sensor so I never experienced any skipping or jittering or acceleration. When I got my Xai it was so so bad but I loved the shape and heard that the Sensei fixed some problems so I got that and it is better but still not perfect 100% of the time. If the deathadder was shaped like a Xai then I would buy one which is why I am closely watching the Steelseries Kana.
