Currently have a friend who has my super old PC but the GPU has sadly passed away (RIP 8800GT) he is wanting to play World of Warcraft therefore with this in mind what GPU would be suitable taking into consideration the system specs/case below.

Q6600 at 2.4Ghz
4/8GB Memory (Can't remember!)
Asus P5N32-E SLI
Corsair 650 PSU
Antec 900

Not sure on his resolution atm but he isn't expecting Ultra settings etc just something which retains a playable frame rate at moderate visuals throughout most scenario's.

Budget £80 Max

Edit: Forgot to mention willing to go down the 2nd hand route.

The GTX750TI 2GB can be had for around £80 to £90 now,and should be a decent upgrade for WoW IMHO.

I had my eye on the 750TI and did some research and it does well especially for WoW, was just curious if there were any second hand hidden gems I should tell him to look out for.

That is the winner so far though.

For £80 you should be looking at the GTX 670, seems to be good value atm on the 2nd hand market. (the AMD equivalents to this card cost more atm due to them still being just about viable for alt-coin mining)

You are still paying a premium for newer tech on the 750Ti.

The Q6600 will be a limiting factor with WOW as it realy doesn't benefit much from more than 2 cores. If it is his main or only significant game and he don't use 4 cores for anything else getting a E8400 - E8600 duo core CPU may help and these can be had for £5-10. :O

If the mobo can overclock you can get 3.5-4.0Ghz from an E8400 depending on your heatsink.

The Q6600 is being cooled by an Artic Freezer Pro 7 so I'd imagine some OC headroom is there, Pretty much as you say he 670 is faster card but I think perhaps unless one pops up for a good price the 750TI will be a safer bet for him having the 3 year warranty etc.

i just wouldn't pick any 2Go graphic card, best i see is a 280X

I don't think video memory will come in to play for his needs also the 280X even second hand from what I gather is over his budget?
