I would like to find out which graphics card would be the most powerful for my system below taking into account the other components as possible bottleneck/s?

Current specs:

CPU: Q6600 @ 3.3Ghz
Ram: 4gb @ 489Mhz
MB: MSI P45 Platinum/Zilent
PSU: Corsair HX450

GPU: MSI GTX 460 Hawx

Budget: As cheaps as poss but want to know whether an upgrade is worth while for my system

Usage: Gaming / video @ 1080P

Thanks :D

Thanks for the info guys. Those GPUs seem like a great upgrade to my GTX460, are those GPUs okay with my PSU though?

@mzal - I'm going to look into the 771 mod, sounds like a great way to get more out of old tech.

That's probably out of the question due to budget constraints. Upgrading the PSU will mean no budget for the GPU. :(

I've got a Xigmatek NRP-MC651 in another system but is about a year older than the Corsair.

Without changing any other component from the OP, just wanting to see what other GPUs can make a good improvement to my system.

Thank you all for the information and suggestion. I am on Windows 7 64 bit OS which I reinstalled recently (transferred from using HDD to SSD).

I will see what sort of money the suggested cards cost but might hold off any more purchases for the time being and do a one time over haul which I guess would make more sense, but will be in +6 months.

If you need info on the 771 mod its all here http://www.delidded.com/lga-771-to-775-adapter/
A nicely overclocked xeon will not hold back a newer gpu as much and they are very cheap.

Thanks for the link - looks interesting, could be a cheap side project to take on :D

The OP asked about a graphics card upgrade not proc?? Why try and confuse him with complex modding instructions regarding something he never even mentioned? If his cpu is quad and running 3.3 Ghz then he wouldn't get any bottleneck with the 750 ti.
In fact its a perfect match, and the one i recommended was £80 in B grade.
Bargain... but oh no lets derail the subject to cpu's?.............

I did ask mzal earlier in my thread about this as he mentioned it and I was quite interested in learning more about this.

A one time overhaul will cost your hundreds of pounds?! The £80 b grade msi 750 ti ( that i earlier linked ) would be the best bang for buck upgrade you could get, and you can upgrade now, not in six months.
Don't let people tell you your proc' isn't good enough. I could almost guarantee you, you'd see a good performance increase, for your 80 quid!:p

Your choice though dude.....

I appreciate your suggestion. At present I am considering options and thinking whether its worth putting in more money for a boost to my system.
