Hello! I'd like to buy a new GPU that's gonna last me few years. Currently my PC is connectec to a 1080p144 panel and also to a LG Oled TV so it is connectec to a 2160p120 panel. I'm playing singleplayer games at 4K but below 60 FPS... Anyway I'd like to get RX 7900XTX GPU but I don't know which model is good.. I had XFX RX 480 but after a week GPU core popped like a popcorn and I'm cautious with XFX models but I was thinking between RX 7900 XTX Black Edition MERC 310 or RX 7900 XTX Magnetic Air Gaming or Saphire Nitro+ Vapor-X model. Which one should I get? Nvidia is overpriced and I want extra VRAM and I don't use RT/PT,

Currently rocking this setup. Bought 9800X3D near MSRP

9800X3D
64 GB 6000 MHz
B650 ASUS TUF
1200W PSU.

Im in the same position. wondering what brand makes them better. planing to build new pc around 7900 xtx gpu or better. but not nvidia.

No problems with my ASUS TUF Gaming OC one. It is hefty though. In my opinion the best card is the one you get the best deal on. I see XFX Merc models for the lowest price on occasion and they seem like decent cards. I don't think the difference in AIB models is worth the £100-200 difference that there can be in price. However, if you find comfort in knowing you have the best model then go for the nitro.

The cheapest of the top-tier models (Asus TUF, XFX Merc, Sapphire Nitro) that you can find, or the Nitro if you're not particularly concerned about the cost.

If you can wait a little longer then I absolutely recommend that you do. A new generation of cards set to be announced at CES (7th-11th January), after which we will hopefully have info on their pricing and performance.

All the 7900 xtx models are decent except for the reference. I've had a few and all are close with a nod going to the Nitro, Red Devil and Asrocks for cooling and power limits. Get whichever is cheapest if you're on a tight budget, go for one of the higher-end models if you have an extra ~£100.

I would 100% agree that waiting a few weeks is the best option at this points. Rumors are coming together that 9070xt will be marginally slower in raster (for some AIB models) than 7900xtx, much faster in RT, and cost around £600. The only thing 7900xtx will have on 9070xt, apart from the slight advantage in raster, will be the extra VRAM (which isn't a big deal as 16GB is enough for this tier GPU).
