Hi all,

I recently had some issues with my pc and games would cause it to fail and reboot the PC.

After much help and advice on here the consensus seemed to be that it was the GPU at fault.

The GPU that I installed was the following...

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/powe...ddr6-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-19d-pc.html

with the rest of my state being the below...

Ryzen 3700x
scythe mugen 5 rev b
msi b450 tomahawk max
crucial ballistix LT 2x16gb 3200c16
sabrent rocket 1tb
corsair rm650
Kolink Observatory Midi Tower RGB Gaming Case - White Tempered Glass Window

I sent it back and they’ve agreed it’s faulty and we’re sending me a new one, I’ve now been emailed again that it’s out of stock. So I’d like to know what better card (and I don’t mind spending some extra) I can get that will work within my existing system.

Any help much appreciated.

I'm still rocking an RX580 so I can't speak from experience, I know that my card has been a lot better than my old R9-270x which gave me all sorts of driver issues, think it was just an AMD thing..
In the same price range, you could get a 2060 Super though if you arent stuck to AMD GPU's, depends what you use your machine for..

Yeah it’s mighty frustrating at the moment with the card I had. There is so many driver related issues that I’ve read about people having with these that I don’t know what to do for the best. I was glad when they said they had no stock and have asked what I would like to do now so I. Guessing either a refund or I can order something else. (Not OCUK)

As long as the card works with everything I already have (detailed above) I don’t mind too much really. I put the PC together for gaming so that’s what it needs to excel at really.

Spend a bit more on a 2070s imo. I was set to get a 5700xt nitro+, as it seemed a better value proposition, but reading the owners and drivers thread put me off. I don't get much free time, so the last thing I want is to be messing around with drivers and potential stability issues.

One thing you haven't covered is the res of your monitor, I'm only on 1920x1080 so the RX580 does everything I need..

Yeah I’m certainly happy to spend some more to get something that’ll be noticeably better, and not need constant messing around due to driver issues!

Being somewhat a noob with this, can I use any 2070s with the rest of my current set up, or is there something specific I need to look for? I don’t want to get one that doesn’t work with my board etc

Sorry I didn’t even think about the monitor having any impact on the choice of gpu. I’ve got the below...

Had a bit of a read and I’m unsure if using an Nvidia card is ok with me having an AMD cpu?

If it’s fine, I’d looked at the Asus GeForce RTX 2070 and also a RTX 2060 as there is £50 difference is it £50 we’ll spent to get the 2070? The 2060 is a triple fan instead of a dual like the 2070.

If I’m better off sticking with AMD for my gpu the top of the range one that is available on the site I need to get it from (due to my credit note) is the Sapphire Radeon RX 5700 XT Nitro+ Special Edition 8GB

Might be GSync compatible, can always give it a go, mine isn't on Nvidias GSync compatible list, but it is, and works fine.
