Im eyeing up 3 different cards atm :

XFX GTX260XT http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-131-XF&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=927

XFX 4890 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-124-XF&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1403

XFX 4890 XT http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-126-XF&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1403

This will be coupled with a Q6600 + 4GB DDR2, 500W PSU with 1x6pin + 1x6+2pin.

Im open to other suggestions and although i do like XFX is just coincidence that they are all XFX cards.

Which will perform best ? run the coolest ? run the quitest ?

Cheers

That 500W PSU combination is one ive used before with a GTX260 and it runs solid, dont know about the 4890's.
Im leaning towards the 260 atm as the 4890's will push me over budget and ive always had better experieces with nVidia, though I feel its time to give ATi another chance and those 4890's look like great bang for the buck.

I guess it wasnt clear from the first post, this is going in a NEW system with the Q6600.
Why would I be replaceing the 9800GX2 with any of these anyway ?

Is it really not worth the extra £10 to get a XFX with slight clock speed increase ?
I would rather it done as stock than up it myself.

Sorry, my mistake there.

Either save cash and go with the 260 that Creed suggested or go for a standard 4890. Either way the cards can be OCed when you find yourself lacking in the power department.

no worries.
So the ASUS 260. Is Rivatuner capable of overclocking GPU's ? not done it before.

EDIT: cheers about the power, I know the 260's are happy on a decent 500W.

EDIT: the ASUS card has a 3year warranty and the XFX a 2year, think Im settled on the ASUS 260 unless anyone has a decent argument.

That is a tenner that I simply do not have.
Ive used a GTX260 a fair bit and ran it side by side with a friends 4890, difference wasnt really noticeable in games like farcry2, UT3, crysis warhead.
