Which Graphics card for 250 max?

Hi people, i want to get a graphics card for my pc, but i don't know which one should i buy.

My specs:
Case: Cooler master elite 430
Motherboard: Asus Maximus iv Gene-z
CPU: Intel Core I5 2500k
Memory: Crossair 3x2gb 1600MHz
PSU: Antec High current gamer 750w
Screen 1080p resolution

But first I'd look at getting rid of that triple channel ram you have in a SandyBridge (dual channel) rig.

a) How do you know they're still being shipped with a HD 6970 BIOS? There have been a couple of posts stating this but that doesn't say they were all like that or that whatever batch are currently being sold are like that.

b) Even if they have a HD 6970 BIOS it doesn't mean they will unlock, which I assume is the point of your comment.

I am sure I read on here as someone bought on in the one-day sale recently and said they flipped it to 6970 straight away with no hassle.
