Which graphics card?

Actually I dont think it looks too bad - things arent noticably fat, i think.
Yes my PC is prebuilt and I think my PSU is HIPRO. I would be willing to get a new PSU if that is not too expensive and the switch its a simple matter of screws and plugs.
Other than that I would still really like to hear more thoughts on 9800 GTX+ vs. 8800 GT on my system. Of course if there is nothing I can do about my PSU/no point maybe I should just go for the 4670.

Switching out the PSU is a definite possibility, although it will be a fairly complicated job. What make/model is the PC? A decent new PSU will set you back about £50.

A 9800GTX+ is a fair bit faster than the 8800GT, but it depends on what level is 'good enough' for you. For me, nothing short of a Radeon 4870X2 is acceptable, but if you have more sense than money an 8800GT would definitely suffice.

Having been in a very similar situation when upgrading my card (originally an Nvidia 7300LE), I'll recommend the HD 4670. Bought this due to the fact it needs no external power and I didn't have the budget to upgrade my PSU at the time (currently running a 300W LiteON one that was already in the pc), and have to say it delivers massive bang for buck!

I can easily game at 1680x1050 with most stuff maxed out - COD4, F.E.A.R. and most recently Fallout 3 all run very well, no fuss! Check it out, they're only around the 60-70 quid mark and you won't need to upgrade the PSU. Looking at your spec a sinificantly better card may be held back by your CPU.

One thing to note if you do go for a 4670 is that it will disable the sound (mine is also realtek) when you first install the card/driver but that's very easy to fix.
