Which graphics card?

Right I've got £300-£380 to spend on a new graphics card and was wondering what would be my best option. At first I was considering the GTX570 but now with the GTX560 out is it worth going for GTX570?

I'll be wanting to play some of the latest releases at 1680*1050 with full eye candy settings basically. CPU will be overclocked to 3.6/3.8ghz shortly so there wont be a problem with bottlenecking?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

You dont need to spend that much on a graphics card to play in that resolution.

At that res a 1GB memory mid range card like the 460 or if you want more the 560 will be more than enough, I still use a 4 year old 8800 GTS 640 to run games at that res and it does so very happily

Thing is I've had a 460GTX 1gb and it's struggled to play a few games at that res all maxed out so I'm not sure about that. Are there any benchmarks out between 560GTX and 570GTX yet?

I would upgrade your monitor 1st as 1920x1080 will be a big improvement.

You could even upgrade your monitor and get another 460 for sli for £300 - £380. That will give you a much better experience than a 570 at 1680x1050.

I don't plan on upgrading as I'm using a 120hz lcd right now and the screen size is perfect for me. Not really fond of sli setup I'd rather just one single card. I know 580GTX will be overkill but I'm contemplating between whether the GTX560 will max out all current games to highest level or will I need the GTX570 to do so

In that case I would think the 560 would be enough at that res. It overclocks to close to 570 speeds anyway if you need a bit more. The extra stock performance of the 570 isn't worth the extra money in my opinion.

If you want to avoid SLI in the future then get the best card you can afford. The GTX570 will last you a long time at that resolution. It is also a good overclocker and can get up to GTX 580 performance in most cases. I don't think even a heavily overclocked GTX 560 can match that.

having read a few reviews it seems the GTX560 will be more than enough to play some of the new titles with some eye candy at this res and I can't see the reason for spending £100ish more for a GTX570 so I think I will order the GTX560 :)
