Which graphics card?

Hello,

I am currently using a slightly overclocked 5870 and would like to get a new card for some games I use at 2560x1600 on a Dell 3008WFP monitor.

I am messing about in PS2 beta and cant quite play at that rez on high, its rather laggy. Apart from this, its the only game I play that is taxing the system apart from the odd game of BF3.

Any suggestions?

I am torn between a 7970 and a GTX 680 although that GTX690 at £780 on the site looks really tempting although still too much money for me to warrant spending when there are other things I need to buy for the house

EDIT: I suppose I am looking for a good solid doubling in performance in all areas if not more.

i7 2700k at 4.4Ghz

Toughpower 850 Psu
