Which Graphics Card?

I am going to be buying parts to build my very own custom PC soon, I will be using the Ryzen 7 7200x processor. I am unsure of what graphics card to get myself? Any recommendations?

I have listed the ones I am looking into which one out of the 3?

1.) Asus 1070ti
2.) Asus 1080
3.) Asus 2070

With CES 2019 in a couple of weeks I would hold off to avoid buyers remorse if you can? There will be many announcements regarding new cards from NVIDIA and AMD. NVIDIA will certainly be announcing the RTX2060 at CES and there are also rumours of AMD releasing new GPUs as well, these will be certainly in the price points in that your looking at.

The RTX2060 should fall around the GTX1070ti in both price and performance, but with the latest architecture based on the updated Turing shaders, rather the older Pascal shader architecture. Based on Ray Tracing performance don’t expect anything but DLSS through the AI tensor cores should boost graphical fidelity.

I would ignore the GTX1080 as they are very difficult to get and the RTX2070 has fallen to the MSRP of $500.

Out of interest, why just ASUS cards?

I chosen the ASUS Graphics cards as I liked the design aspect, I’ve just looked again and I’ve seen the “EVGA 1080ti SC2 (11GB” which is currently £750 or the “ASUS ROG-STRIX 2080 (8GB)” for £899 although that is a big jump is it worth the extra £££?

As for AMD I have chosen the Ryzen 7 7200x as I want to do multiple things? Such as game and stream or from time to time learn how to edit... I could be wrong but heard that Ryzen is better at multitasking than Intel? Not sure how true this really is though

The ASUS ROG Strix is the most expensive of the RTX cards, it’s an expensive aesthetic upgrade as it really is just aesthetics.

What motherboard do you have? If you can, use a matching combination if you are going for a RGB, since mixing RGB ecosystems can cause issues

Yes in terms of price/performance AMD wins hands down as the CPU’s are cheaper, the motherboards are cheaper, and whilst you will give up a few FPS’s compared to Intel the multitasking and rendering performance blows Intel away at £300.

Intel gives the better gaming performance, but at a price!

There is a great some great videos on YouTube:

Thank you for all your help, I will give some of these YouTube channels a watch, for the motherboard I was going to buy the “Asus x470 pro (White)” the reason I picked a white motherboard is due to personal opinion?

It’s RGB and I think RGB looks lovely in a white case with white accents. FPS doesn’t mean the whole world to me I just want something where I multitask as I want to start streaming and gaming at the same time I’m sure the difference between Ryzen and Intel is little between FPS but the cost is huge.

So overall which graphics card should I look into? I did find a EVGA 1080 Ti SC2 cheaper than I could find any other Ti? Although it is only a dual fan

What case have you got? If you haven’t got a case yet you could look at this one:

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/lian-li-pc-o11-dynamic-midi-tower-white-window-ca-76t-ll.html

These are fantastic white fans, not RGB but I would use these with RGB strips to give the right aesthetic.

The Asus Motherboard is more silver than white, if you go for a white case this could be a good option as it’s both a great board and very neutral with no coloured accents. It’s a bit more expensive but it’s a fantastic motherboard.

Also which monitor are you using and what resolution is it? If you have the monitor model I’m happy to look it up?

There is a great deal on the Asus ROG Strix Vega 64 OC:

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus...hbm2-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-41v-as.html

The performance is on par about with a GTX1080, or another option is this Gigabyte model:

Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 GAMING OC WHITE 8G at £550. There is an RTX 2080 version but doesn’t seem to be widely available in the UK. It’s available at CaseKing in Germany so maybe worth contacting OcUK as they are owned by CaseKing now.

If you want to really show the card off you might want to think of a vertical GPU mount:

In terms of RGB ecosystems, I personally love Corsair as they have a range of products and their LL fans and RGB strips are great and the iCue software is amazing.

Just want to say Happy New Year!! :)

I currently don’t have any parts as of yet, I want to start this building this year (2019) the case I have been looking at is the Meshify TG (White) I will list everything I have been looking at down below;

Power Supply,

As for a monitor I plan to buy 2 4K screens, the reason I want 2 is because I want to start streaming even when I’m not streaming it’ll be beneficial? For work purposes. Anything you don’t agree with let me know a better alternative please... Trying to make the PC RBG spectacular which is why I originally went with the Prime motherboard.

£900 for a 2080...

I wouldnt bother with the GTX series now. You may as spend the extra over the 1070ti and get the RTX 2070. Ray tracing isn't big now but it will probably make its way into more and more games. And it's on par with 1080 for performance

Do you not think that is worth it? As you can tell I don’t know a whole lot about Benchmarks or Graphics Cards...

So, what is value for money and what do you recommend?

In your op you suggest cheaper cards and then link to one if not the most expensive 2080 there is...

Why not post In the general hardware thread and get the regulars in there to spec you up mate...

Post resolution
Budget
Stating you want a 2700x build.

2070 is a dumb card...overpriced and won’t run RT
