Hey guys,

So, Im buying a GTX 780 and am thinking of getting an EVGA one due to positive reports on here and top class RMA (which is a consideration with my bad luck with GPU's).

I was wondering which of the above I should get. Price wise I can get the standard one for around 550 or 600 for the superclocked. Am wondering if the superclocked is just a pre-overclocked card or if there are any physical differences?

Thanks for your help

Thanks but that doesn't really answer my question :)

Why do you recommend those two brands?

edit: and frankly all the issues I had with my last MSI card (7950) i won't be giving them another try anytime soon

Yes, I remember there being some recurring problems with certain MSI 7950s. However, I wouldn't rule them out on that example. How did you find the customer support / rma with them? They are supposed to be one of the best in that regard.

KFA2 is based in the U.K. for rma, so that and the positive comments I hear about them is why I would conisder a purchase.

Didn't really get to try MSi RMA as OCUK replaced the first one (which worked for around a day). The second card was DOA so I returned for refund. OCUK were pretty quick about it all and I got to keep the free games so it didn't work out badly really. Was a shame because it was a lovely looking card and played everything fine (apart from crysis 3).

But does anyone have any info on the EVGA 780s? I might just plumb for the cheaper one as it is already an expensive card and I bet the performance difference is negligible. Also, I love the look of the stock cooler

Im looking at going for the EVGA 780gtx too, they both look the same to me but then again my no tekky. As long as it can play Rome Total War 2 on the maximum settings then i will be very happy :-)

I believe the SC is just pre-clocked so if you got the standard EVGA 780 you could use the turbo boost to see what it gets to and if you want it higher up the volts :)

My reason for choosing EVGA would be that they allow cooler removal without affecting the warranty.
Not sure if anyone else does that?
I think MSI might if you buy through OcUK.

I have the EVGA Superclock and it's an amazing card but to save you money you could just get the cheapest 780 and clock it to the same numbers yourself, they are all the same, Cooler etc... bar some factory clock settings in their bios's.
