Evening, I've loved playing GH2 round my mates house on his PS2 so decided to get it for my 360, but I will want GH3 aswell (probably get it for christmas) sooooo to the point, which guitar is better? Ive heard some minor issues about the new one because of the snap off neck, whats that all about?
 
Never had a problem with mine to be honest. Some folks claim that the fret buttons fail to work, but then realise that they've not actually attached the neck to the main part properly... :)
 
Xplorers far better in my opinion

My issues with the new one is several people have problems with buttons not responding due to loose connections in the neck. Apparently taping the neck up helps solve this. Also i don't like how the buttons are rounded (like the PS2 guitars) as supposed to the square buttons of the Xplorer, I find it a lot harder to slide between notes on the Les Paul. And the final reason is, I look cooler using the Xplorer :p
 
Got both here and I much prefer the new one. The frets seem a lot easier to get to and the strum button isn't as clunky.

Plus the added benefit of it been wireless is a positive, providing you have a set of fully charged AA bateries at hand.
 
i like the new one but the uber-l33t-extra sensative star power thing gets on my **** puttin it bluntly.

lol I use star power to blag my way through the harder songs so when it randomly activates as soon as i get some, it just speeds up the failing process lol

aside from that, the buttons are pretty nice and it feels a bit more solid than the explorer

I'm having the exact same problem - in fact I'm thinking of returning the guitar for it, I'm just weary I'll get a duff like my first, which had green button problems - otherwise I really dig the LP - feels better than the SG and Xplorer to me.

Perhaps they could release a game update where you can set star power to activate through the back button instead of using the super sensitive tilt :confused:
 
from reading on the net, it seems to be a common thing with the 360 version of the LP. is everyones the same or just a few??
 
Definately not mine, although in fairness, if I have the guitar at an angle (which I know some people prefer to play like that) then it can kick into star power without me wanting it to.

Holding it horizontal(ish) I have to give a good tilt to activate it.

So don't know to be honest, I've had no problems.
 
thats probs what it is, thats how i play a real guitar, with it tilted, so naturally hold the guitar hero one like that :(

though i hold the explorer like that also and that doesnt activate on its own and still takes quite a tilt to activate it??
 
Only tried the explorer for a few hours around my mates and i personally own the 360 wireless, I much much prefer the wireless eventho initially, I had problems with the blue and orange button (poor contact in the next, stuffed with a couple of paper pieces and it worked since).

Wireless + playing around the living room floor whilst dancing and doing a "Busted" jump off the sofa is just... brilliant!

Another fun thing to do with wireless is to hide behind a wall / door (or in my house layout, in my kitchen) and play blindly to the music - tried that, works fine with the first few minutes in barracuda (I memorised that part) but fails miserably with all others. I was rather drunk mind you...
 
My Les Paul is great, looks and feels better than the old xplorer and as a lefty its more comfortable to use. For some reason though i still prefer the clicky old xplorer and always seem to do better with it :) .
 
I have both and much prefer the new wireless one..the strum bar feels better in my opinion

when we play co-op the bassist always gets the explorer!
