Just wondering if its a good time to buy a PS Vita or Nintendo 3DS right now?

I guess its the games that matter, and the 3DS has a lot more of them but the Vita caters a lot more towards "mature" gamers.

I can't think of many games I want to play on the 3DS, but I can think of some for the Vita. Unfortunately though it seems the library for the Vita is quite limited and it doesn't have many "big hitter" blockbuster games.

I also have a ps plus account to make use of.

Just wondering what your opinion is, should I get a Vita or 3DS? Ta.

I bought a vita a few months back, and it really is a great piece of kit. The game library isn't brilliant, but there are some really good games for it.

I have been playing through the Metal Gear series on it and been enjoying them(though I forgot how bad MGS 2 was!). The new Killzone is also great...a really good FPS of a quality that you would find on a console.

Off the top of my head, here are some really good games that I have tried:

Killzone
Metal Gear
Assassin's Creed
mavity Rush(on Ps Plus)
Stealth Inc(on ps plus atm)
Hotline Miami
Virtua Tennis 4
Fifa Football
Sreet Fighter X Tekken(on ps plus atm)
Uncharted Golden Abyss(on PS Plus)
NFS Most Wanted
Rayman Origins
Dragon's Crown

Then you have all the PSN games to play as well.

Also, you have some interesting upcoming games as well, such as Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, Borderlands 2, Final Fantasy x HD to name a few.

In short, I have been very impressed with the Vita since I bought one, though I would like a few more games if I'm honest.

the vita is about to get a whole lot of love once the PS4 is released, it currently has a fair few excellent titles but i think the 3DS is currently winning if you want varity.

ive not owned a 3DS so i cant offer much input but i do own a vita and after a slow start (like most consoles) its gaining momentum and with the likes of Borderlands 2 Final Fantasy X HD and minecraft coming soon its going to be a very fun handheld to have... and thats not going into the remote play on the PS4 which has the potential to make the vita one of the best handhelds of all time imo.

I love my 3DS but then I also love Nintendo franchises. So many great games, have not bothered with a Vita purely because I own too many consoles and it wouldn't get used at all.

If I had to choose one I'd go for the Vita, especially if you have a PSN+ or plan to get a PS4 as they will work well together. I've had one since release and I still think it's great, for a handheld the graphics and games are amazing.

That said I upgraded to a 3DS XL yesterday, the new pokemon edition as I think the XL is a lot better than the standard edition if you are going to go that way, and the one I've just got looks really nice :)

But like I said if I had to choose one it would be the Vita, it's miles ahead of the 3DS in terms of quality.

It really depends on the type of games you want to play, and that's all there is to it.

Iv always been a fan of Nintendo and their games, so naturally i have a 3DS.

It's hard to say, both offer vastly different libraries and features. I'd personally say get a 3DS now for Pokémon X & Y and then get a Vita when you can afford it. Depends on what you want from a handheld though, the Vita is pretty much a PS3 in your pocket which is nice.

I have a Vita and a 3DS XLS, and really want to like the 3DS, but just can't.

Vita has come on leaps and bounds since PS+ started getting some cracking games on it.

Ive just ordered myself a 3ds xl for £140 with a charger, thats a point if you get the xl make sure to buy a charger as its not included. Silly really

I do have a vita too and if you have a ps3 with ps plus, the vita will be great

I have a 3DS XL, and is the best handheld console I've ever owned.

Their are ton's of Mario games, Luigi's mansion, Professor Layton, Zelda (plus a new zelda out soon), Pokemon, Fire Emblem, Donkey Kong, Resident Evil. The list is endless really. Not forgetting the back catalogue of DS games you can get.

I'd whole heartidly recommend a 3DS.

I can't really comment on the Vita as I've not owned one, but I had a PSP and didn't play it at all. so it depends what type of experience you want really. I thought having a portable console (PSP) would be better, but I just liked Nintendo's Ecosystem better.

Ps Vita here, the 3ds is OK for nintendo games (mario etc ) thats it, thats the case for most nintendo consoles.

Depends on what games you want to play!

It purely comes down to what type of games you want to play.

I'd go for a 3DS every time because I personally find the entire Nintendo catalogue more exciting than what Sony stick out on the Vita, but if Nintendo games aren't your bag then it's going to be the Vita.

Other than that, what's the point of comparing them?
