Hey guys, ive been offered some hardware from a friend on the cheap as he is upgrading his system to BD when it is released.

Now I'm planning on buying the stuff from him as I'm planing on setting up a web server soon. However what my issue is, which should I use for gaming and which for server, as I haven't a clue as to AMD quality seen as I have always been an Intel User

The hardware he has offered me is:-

ASUS m4a79XTD-evo
Phenom II x4 810
2GB of DDR3/1333 (not sure on brand)

Then it will have my GTX 460 in it.

The hardware I have is

Q8200+ @2.9
Asus P5QL-PRO
8GB DDR2 @ 400mhz
and my GTX460

If i was using the AMD stuff for my gamer I would obviously be upgrading the ram quickly to 8gb Corsair Dominator (probably).

Any thoughts would be great. I'm getting all the hardware for £80 ($130) so id say its a pretty good deal And I know it is all working 100% as I have tested it all Recently.

Here is a comparison between the 2 processors, I would go with the AMD build for gaming. The RAM in the AMD build is a lot faster than your current setup and if you bump it up to 4/8gb will be even better.

p.s you're signature is only meant to be 4 lines max ;)
