I have way too many remotes so would be nice to consolidate them all but it needs to work for every one of these obviously, in no particular order:-

Panasonic PZ70 plasma TV.
Pioneer VSX-2021 receiver
Marantz CD6000 ki CD player
Sony BDP-S350 bluray player
Toshiba HD-E030 HD-DVD player
Apple TV
Xbox 360

What does the more expensive 1100 or 900 one do that the Touch, 700, 650, One doesn't? (God why do they make so many models?!)

I have a 1100. the large customisable touch screen is really good for adding buttons that would otherwise not be there

for example, have an on/off for lights on the remote along with buttons for different sound processing, tv guide on WMC, live tv etc etc.

point is, its completely customizable

The ultimate and 1100 seems excess for my needs, don't need Bluetooth, just IR really.

I've got the "One", and recently bought another "One" from ebay for ~£50, if you don't need the colour buttons I’d recommend it. However, the lower "650" has dedicated colour buttons and is arguably better if you require them...

I have a Harmony One and cant fault it. Yes, it's not ideal that the colour buttons are on the touch screen, but you get used to it.

I had a Harmony One since release, until last week when I tried to replace the battery and it was swollen closed (common fault apparently). Logitech were kind enough to send me a brand new Harmony Touch. The new flagship model.

After a days usage, the Harmony Touch "just works" and is more responsive than my One, however I still prefer the tactile button layout of the One.

My advice - get a Harmony One cheap on eBay :)

My Harmony 900 is great. The best bit for me is controlling the sky box, amp, from up stairs on the tv. We watch sky through the RF output on the skybox plumped through to the tv RF connector up stairs but can control the box and tv's all through one remote :)

Coloured buttons are required for sky when using the planner to delete/keep and for skipping between favourite channels.

The 650 is probably the best value remote in logitech's range but only supports 5 devices at a time unlike the pevious models in the same price bracket like the 555 that supported upto 15. This limit can be overcome if you already have an older model as you can transfer your current setup to the new remote but Since the OP has 7 devices already listed and doesnt already have an older remote its not really an option so I'd agree whith regards to picking up a harmony one.

When the screen died on my 555 I was really stuck as to which remote to get as I wanted something comparable with the 555 but there was nothing in the price range, as Shug said, the ones in the same price range were limited (and I really mean limited...as in the only constraint is software based!) to 5 devices.

In the end I contacted Logitech to ask if there was anything suitable, the only device they had was the One +, when I explained my disappointment with the range and the lack of a replacement for the 555 without spending basically double, they gave me a couple of discount codes which meant I got a One for about £60 which was pretty good.

It's a decent remote but a little slow switching on when picked up from the charger and the lack of coloured buttons is a little annoying.

Ever since the demise of teletext I don't think I have ever pressed the colour buttons on my TV, why?

I don't have Sky TV.
I don't have a clear signal for even Freeview.

I do have a TV licence however and I use TVCatchup to watch shows that I want...which these days limits to the news and live sports.

So I never need the colour buttons, therefore that annoyance don't really apply in my case. :)
