Hi
well finally time to build again and I am a bit confused by the new chips .
What is the difference between the Haswell 4570 and the 4570s?
And would either be a better option than the 4670 or maybe one of the sandybridge chips at around the same price point?
Building on a tight budget and no interest in overclocking on this rig

4570 higher power but higher performance
4570s lower power but lower performance

for only a 200mhz bump id stick with the 4570 over the 4670

I don't see why Haswell has a low power Version, as the rest of the range have Ultra low power Sleep States..

I guess it would use less power while in use but you want performance when you're using it don't you?

Anyway, I'd just get the 4570 if i were you. :)

according to anand, the desktop chips dont have the ultra low power sleep states, desktop haswell only lowers about 10% idle vs ivy

You could wait and see how the Xeon 1230 'V3' performs. The 'V2' was the best bang for buck Ivybridge CPU, (Essentially being a locked 3770K for £100 less)

The Xeon 1230 'V3' may take the same price point and have i7 performance for i5 price..
