Which hatchback for £5000?

Hi, I've had a 03 Punto 3dr as my first car for almost 5 years now and its just about given up and is quite literally falling to pieces.

Given myself about £5k for a used hatchback, don't really mind between 3 or 5dr. Really want alloys and a/c (my punto is missing both

)

What do you think? I've been looking at Fiestas but would really like the new shape which is just out of my price range.

What would it be used for? Want something sporty?

Just use it go to work, country lanes and then motorways to go see the gf every other weekend.
Want at least a 1.4, my 1.2 is doing my head in now. Nothing sporty per say, don't want the insurance too high.

Alloys would be the bottom of my priority list! You must have more clue than "It must have alloys, aircon and a hatchback"?

Engine size is irrelevant, it's how it drives. Ford just replaced the 1.6 Focus with a 1.0 turbo...

If youve been driving 5 years maybe move up a size to a focus? .. its not quite so Mickey Mouse as the Fiesta. Another 5 years and you'll be ready for a Saloon car

Seriously though, I'd recommend a focus over the Fiesta.
