Which HD 7950?

The cheaper MSI and HIS ones have a lesser performing cooler, and also lower stock speeds (not sure if that means they will overclock less?).

I went for the His 7950 Boost, looks a bargain at £190.

EDIT

Sorry got mixed up.

Option 2 all day long.

Any particular reason for this one?

Either the MSI Twin Frozr http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-190-MS&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1673
Or the HIS IceQ is what I would personally choose, definetly wouldnt be the cheaper reference ones for me

Ah yes the forzer, I did have a HD6870 forzr and it was great, cool and quiet, thanks. I will have another think.

Thanks for the quick responses guys.

HIS Boost has the best cooler and unlocked voltage. However it takes up more than two slots. MSI is the best two slot solution, and HIS reference is best for water-cooling.

Yeah the His 7950 Ice-Q Boost is great in that it pumps out hot air through the back of your case and not back into the case itself, also from reviews etc seems the cooler is quiet and very efficient too.

I have the Twin Frzr III cooler on my MSI 6870 1GB HAWK, and although if you select the silent mode (rather than performance) you can't hear it at idle, it can get noisy when above 40 - 50% when under maximum load which can be annoying. So I wouldn't specifically go for a card with this cooler again when the choice is there to go with the HiS one, although MSI may have better/quicker warranty (not entirely sure).

I have the MSI OC BE, it 'vents' heat both ways, so around 60-75% ends up in the case.

Not a problem for me - big case and good cooling :)

I've got 2 boosts myself ( the second option) and can only say whats already been said really, very good cooler, exhausts air out the back of your case, just one of the reasons I got it

Excuse me but nerd mode on!!

What clocks do you use?

What games do you play and what temps do you see?

What clocks do you use? What voltages do you use? What are temps like depending on the game?

What games do you play and what temps do you see?

Do you run any side fans with your Ice-Q's?

I ordered the HIS HD 7950 IceQ BOOST last night. After a lot of debating I knew this one would give me the best value. Nice little suprise is it's listed as coming with a load of free games too. :D

It should not have needed much debate, the card you have picked is one of the best if not the best in it's class.:D

Enjoy your new card.:)

Ask enough questions eh :P - I use 1200/1425 on gpu 1 and 1125/1425 on the 2nd (this is the on I had an issue with stability so I down clocked it and have been too lazy and actually busy for once! to tinker and find my absolute macx), as for voltage I use the stock/max volts (as in I havnt altered the voltage but as its the boost card it bumps the voltage up, never did mess with the bios to change this...yet)

Games - anything - played a lot of diablo 3! and recently played bioshock infinite and tomb raider, sim city and a few hours of Civ 5 (these are just the games I've played since going crossfire), all running on 2560x1440 res, temperatures - max really is mid 70's - and yes I have side fans on my NZXT case - 2 120mm fans on the lower right hand side - closer to the HDD's than the gpus but still an effect
