Which headphones would u buy for Asus Xonar 7.1?

Depends on your budget, if its gaming personally I'd get dt990 for the headphones channel and just have a seperate lav mic for the soundcard.

I got the Audio-Technica M50x headphones (and using onboard sound) with a Shure MVL Lavalier Microphone. Onboard sound must have caught up with decade old sound cards right. For 3d positional audio in games. The headphones have slightly more base than the Razer Tiamat gaming headset but are slightly smaller and crush my ears a bit.

I used to have a set of headphones with separate 3.5mm jacks for each channel.
Any good SQ audio brand will do.

DT990 is a great shout, as is the DT 900 Pro X, but anything that isn't a gimmicky headset will do. Depends on your budget.

You can spend £££ on a new set of headphones.

Can't say I know much about "surround sound" headsets other than they seem largely obsolete thanks to modern spacial processing solutions such as ATMOS, so if that's what you wanted advice on, sorry.

One nice thing about that audio card is that it has a subwoofer out so you could have a set of studio speakers and a subwoofer connected via different audio channel, have audio profiles set up to use either a headset or the studio speakers and then have a tidy setup for movies or general use when you don't need to worry about the neighbors or other people in the house.
