I have approx 4m between my HDTV and my pc. I used to have my pc next to the tv and I used a cheap 2m HMDI that was fine.

I know there are rip-off HMDI cables around but say I got a 5m one is a cheap £10 still ok?
Is the quality more affected by a longer cable?

thanks

Its a digital signal not analogue so just get whatever one is cheapest. All this gold plated and extra-uber-quality rubbish makes no difference

See I dont know how they can sell HDMI cables for such ridiculous prices is places like Currys and so on. Its a digital signal. Its either on or off, how can the quality of the cabling matter?!

Same reason popcorn sells for so much in Cinemas; they make massive profit, the manufacturer makes a massive profit, and it evens out areas where they make next to none. It's very hard to make good profit in a retail store without these sorts of things; internet shops don't have anywhere near the same expenditures.

@OP.

Anything under 15m just make sure it looks fine, and it nearly always will be. (if it looks like a pile of *****...), it's only 15/30+ metres you really need to bother. Again I recommend Plexus, cheap, relatively well made etc.
