Hi guys I have signed upto O2 20mb Broadband, it gets turned on Monday and I have been quoted a 13mb guaranteed speed which I am happy with, my BT sockett is in the ground floor front front room and so is my Xbox360 which I use for 90% of my online gaiming and also for streaming films from my PC, my PC is on the first floor in the back room so an exstension league from the PC room to the phone sockett would be quite messy so I have been advised to get 2 Homeplugs to network my PC to my O2 router and connect my Xbox360 direct to the O2 router, is this the best way and if so what speed and type of Homeplug would you guys reccomend ?? I dont want to loose any broadband speed to my PC or Xbox360.

Cheers guys sounds good, are these going to be fast enough to not bottleneck my internet speed ?

Also am I going the right thing in using homeplugs or would it be best to just run a network cable up the stairs (this was my last result)

Cheers guys, would it just be easier and cheaper to get a wireless network card or dongle for my pc will i be able to achieve full internet speed doing it this way ?

Ok how about if i install some network connectors to the wall and run cat 5 cable around the outside of my house, how easy is this and what would i need other than cat 5 cable, rj-45 connectors and wall face plates ? Can someone draw me up a plan

85mbps is all you need to be honest for just your dsl line, not much point in looking any higher as you wont see the benefit unless you're hd streaming.

I do stream from my pc to my xbox360 also 2 x homeplugs will cost me between £50 - £100 but surely i can buy some cat 5 cable and install a wired network cheaper and i suppose its more reliable and faster just not sure what i need do i just get two wall sockets and connect them via a cat 5 cable running up the outside wall

cheers guys, I think I will just get the Devolo 1154 Homeplug High Speed Powerline twin pack (Twin Pack Starter Kit) this is 85mbps I will try this and see how I go.
