The choice is either Vidahost Advanced package at £99 p/year or TSO's Pro account at £49.99 per year.

The website is a business one, but we don't expect mega amounts of traffic so we don't need to spend hundreds per month or per year.

My main concern is because it's shared hosting I don't want the company site to be blacklisted due to other sites bad contend on the same server.

Just don't know which one to choose.

Whichever package is cheaper, whilst having all the features you need. Both have great support and offer near-identical service.

Have heard good stuff about vida, but as I'm with tsohost I'll recommend those as I honestly can't fault them :)

I've been with both, currently with TSO but only because of price and a very nice offer they had on. They're both very close but Vidahost are a little better in most ways and they have R1Soft backup included which is really nice as it means you have access to loads of snapshots/backups of your site.

As far as I know you can do that with tsohost, you just email them for a backup at whatever time and give you ftp access to tghe backup.

Have tried both, although only on a low-end package. Both amazingly good hosts, especially for the price. Currently with Vida as I find their website a little easier to use, plus I've always had very good support from them so I stuck with what I knew.

I currently have a personal account with Vidahost.

Is the TSO's Cpanel pretty much the same as the one offered by Vidahost?

R1soft is completely different. It creates continuous snapshots of your account so you can go back to various dates/times.
You can create manual backups with any cpanel account, you don't need to contact their support.

Just to further add some input. A short while ago I needed an account set up at very short notice and a lot of accounts copied over. This was done very very quickly by the Vidahost guys at between 11pm and 1am! Absolutely top work.

they're both run on UK Webhosting Ltd infrastructure so from a technical side of things, there's really no difference ... as someone said above, choose which ever is cheapest for your needs (space/bw/extras) etc ... both have great 24/7 support and both have good telephone support hours
