Hi guys

I am going to upgrade my system to intel now. I have been looking around at some i5's but I have heard that a new gen should be coming out soon. When are they coming out? Should i got the new one or the current ones. I will be doing some overclocking with it but not much. Thanks for any suggestions.

Thanks

Next gen (Broadwell) is likely very early 2015. They've just speed bumped the Haswell line in the meantime.

If the current one does what you need, then buy now. There's always something faster, more efficient or cheaper on the horizon...

If can hold off for a few weeks the updated unlocked Haswell CPU'S arrive - the 4790k & 4690k.

If your not into overclocking then the non-k variants can be bought now.

A complete update I think is not due until early 2015.

I thought you could overclock K series chips? Has this changed?

I mean you can overclock and then you can overclock the hell out of the chip. :D As the difference between Haswell and Devil's Canyon will be mainly in overclockability, if this is not a priority, it's not worth to wait.
